VMWare does NOT run on OS/2-eCS and DOES not support OS/2-eCS as a
client in any of its three flavours - ESX for corporate - high powered
Intel hardware, running on a VMWAre specific cut down version of Linsux.
GSX running either on Linsux or Windoze Server or Workstation, running
on Windoze workstations or Linsux.
Microsoft VirtualPC / VirtualServer runs on Windoze and Mac. The Windoze
versions (workstation and server) allow the running of OS/2 or eCSs as a
client OS. There used to be an OS/2 version that ran on OS/2 or eCS but
it's development ceased when Micro$oft took over Connectix (who
originally produced Virtual PC and Virtual Server).
The "new boy on the block" is SVista - it runs all combinations (ie
client or host) of the following:
Windoze
Linsux
Free BSD
and YES OS/2-eCS.
The windoze hosted version is the most adavanced as it is based on a
previous virtaulisation product TwoOSTwo - which was wriiten
specifically to run OS/2 on top of Windoze for several German financial
institutions.
The other versions are effectively "late betas" and are still being
developed. They are however already usable and further advanced than
VirtualPC or VMWare were at this stage of their existance.

There are also "package deals" with eComStation for the OS/2-eCS
version, as it is part of the optional application pack for eCS 1.2.
