Debs rather than Eugene Pulliam. For years the Indianapolis Star was run by the Pulliam family, ardent conservatives all. I grew up reading the Sunday Star and chafing at its editorial content. Eugene V. Debs, OTOH, was a socialist/unionist, more or less at the other extreme. I read of Debs' career rather early on in my education and found it quite compelling. I wouldn't support his causes now though. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
