Bob, at 13:50 on Thu, May 26 1994, you wrote to Bill Grimsley ... Yep, no argument at all that he grounded the ball. It's just a crying shame that it wasn't 6" further down the field. ;-) BL> It annoys me that they all cheat; pretending that they had their BL> hand under the ball, and sliding it back across the line, or BL> swearing that they got it down when they didn't. I've never seen BL> anyone write about this bad-sportsmanship. They concentrate on BL> biffo and stiff-arm tackles, and no one says that cheating is BL> virtually expected! Given that the distance involved was microscopic, I think you could be magnanimous here and give Harragon the benefit of the doubt. My complaint is with the referee, who quite obviously did NOT see the ball grounded, otherwise he would have disallowed that try. And he was selected by Qld too! BG> Wally is a wanker, and always has been. ;-) BL> Couldn't disagree with that, but he used to be great, too. You're right. He was a GREAT wanker.
