Hello Jean -

CA>> From my testing 57600 is not a problem for either of them.

JP> He might have read DTE, while DCE was at <9600. ( ??? )

No Jean. HE has been working with telecom software for over two
decades and on three hardware platforms writing software for
this purpose in ASM, C, BASIC, FoxPro, and even OBERON
programming languages.

HE made no mistakes, HE knows what HE has said and any of you
that wish to repeat the experiment are welcome to test what I
have said for yourselves.

Seems there is a marked tendency on FIDO of late to trust in
folklore and fantasy over fact. Not unlike the refusal to
accept that short filenames DO affect 'copied' backups of
Windows from W9x and up to all versions of NT. Even Microsoft
admitting to the problem is ignored in favor of folklore and
fantasy here.

As the saying goes "You can discuss it forever, fly it once and
you will know". This applies to telecom and computer
software/hardware as well. Think, apply sound logic, then test.
Otherwise everyone is just spreading info-babble from one to
the other.
