RP>JS ->Your portrayal is analogous like saying if you have an aircraft
RP> ->crash (nobody wants one of those in their area, anywhere!), the
RP> ->FAA, DEA, and ATF automatically responds with all the local
RP> ->authorities, although there is no legal arrangement on paper
RP> ->between the feds, city, county and state jurisdictions, and
RP> ->you're gonna sit here and tell me that the local cops are going
RP> ->to arrest the FAA, DEA, and ATF for interfering? ROFLMAO!!!!
John, your analogy does not hold water. Unlike the agencies that you
mention above, the National Registry is NOT a federal agency. It is a
private organization that administers the EMT and paramedic
certification process for states that want it to. The NR has no
authority to do anything at all.
RP>Can you explain the rationale of Ohio in requiring all prospective
RP>EMTs/Paramedics to pass the NR exam, but then doesn't require anyone
RP>to keep it up? All you have to do is meet the state CE requirements
RP>and you stay state-certified.
Massachusetts does the same thing for paramedics. The rationale is that
it is a lot cheaper to have someone else do the initial testing, since
it costs a lot to write a valid examination. Recertification is easy,
since all that it requires is ConEd, Refresher, ACLS, and CPR.
