You were probably using WinFossil.

Nope. A couple of weeks ago I tried passing from BinkleyTerm (DOS) ->
MaximusNT which didn't work - dropped carrier.

Haven't tried BinkleyTerm/32 -> MaximusNT yet. I suspect the same result.

BinkleyTerm/32 -> Maximus (DOS) should work.

I'm using Windows NT.
