MM> what REALLY HAPPENED
MM> CAN YOU HEAR ME OK BOB?
You don't need to shout. I can hear and read fine. I still have a
problem
with what was described - I know that weapon all too well.
I'm really sorry for the officer, whatever happened. I still want t know
what did happen - because although my experience may be limited in some
areas,
I have disassembled LTOS of pistols to understand the mechanism - and while I
can readily accept that this would happen with a pistol with an external
hammer that was carried cocked, I have grave difficulty imagining a set of
circumstances (aside from meddling with the mechanism) that would permit a
Glock to behave in this manner.
MM> The GLOCK fell and struck the ground. upon striking said ground the
MM> weapon discharged causing a .40 bullet to strike officer who dropped his
MM> own weapon. Right leg below knee has been amputated.
MM> At this point weapon is being examined by TBI who also carry glocks to
MM> determine cause. I expect GLOCK REPS will examine said weapon as soon
MM> as they are permitted. I worked with ALI once and his ciy was part of my
MM> assignd terittory.
I will be interested in their findings. The ONLY way anyone I know that
uses Glocks can imagine this happening would be if it were dropped and
grabbed
on the way down, actuating the trigger. A Glock is never at full cock unless
the rigger is actuated.
