Re the Iowa, here's an interesting take, in the midst of a full page of the
USN's dirty laundry, affectionately laid out, if that's a possible thing.

Forward and back are a number of pages of perfectly fascinating and useless
battlewagon lore.  My father-in-law survived Dec 7th (out to see on a
cruiser) and spent the war on battleships, and later on subs in the Bongo
straits. He's gonna go wild.
