Don't feel bad, I have TWO chevy's, and no Corvette, but enough about what I
drive to work, what do I use to get the work done?
I have Two Couriers, a Sportster, a Supra FaxModem, and a SupraExpress.
The Couriers have been flawless since day one.
The Sportster has worked pretty good, but I did have to get a ROM update to
fix some problems. The update was free.
Both Supra's have had to be returned to the factory at one time or another to
get serious problems fixed, all of which were manufacturing defects. One
caused by their use of the absolute cheapest part that they could get that
week, and the other caused by rushing the product to market without testing.
Just an FYI, ALL SupraExpress 56K modems manufactured before July of this
year need to be returned to Supra, as they have defective 56K datapumps.
These modems have NOT been recalled, and if you run down to your local
computer store and buy a Supra 56K, you are more likely than not to get one
of these defective modems. Supra is only replacing them if you complain.
The same defective datapump was also used in HAYES modems, and while Hayes is
promising a replacement, they are not issuing RMA's yet.
