True.  I also moved out here to the boonies of southwest Iowa - the nearest
settlement - Emerson - is 5 miles away, the nearest city is about 12 miles;
I am quite literally at the end of the phone cable - which is about 12 miles long.
That and the age of the cable prevent modem speeds > about 26KB, which
rules out Internet but works quite well for Fidonet.
