Yep, I followed Core Wars for years, still have copies of it lying about, no
doubt.
Never heard _squat_ about a program that the other guys couldn't beat.
Indeed, the concept was later expanded to Robot Wars (in Pascal, as I recall)
and other games where you had more of a visual display to see what was going
on.
