I don't know what the specs are for your radio, but the radio may not have 
the required gain for your area.  Typically beacons with Morse IDs are found 
in this area, mostly from airports or around bodies of water - like the 
ocean.  If you are landlocked, you might not find anything there.  (Turn on 
your BFO if you have one to see if you can find any carriers there at all.)  
See this month's "Monitoring Times" (Dec., '97) for a couple of good articles 
on this band.
