| subject: | BIG VIDEO FONTS |
-------BIG VIDEO FONTS UNDER DOS Charles Angelich said to Roy J. Tellason CA>> There is software out there that will CA>> magnify the IBM chars to CA>> almost full screen size under DOS. RJT> Oh yeah? What's it called? CA> "It"? I think there are several. Usually CA> combined in a package to CA> redo fonts. The 'editor' will expand the CA> fonts to almost full CA> screen. Existing are usually used as the 'template'. For a moment there I thought you were saying that you could have enlarged video fonts (like True-Type) under DOS. That would be =real= handy for my low-vision group, and would allow them to read ebooks (like those available via Gutenberg) on something as lowly as a 386 -- the only equipment we have plenty of. I thought there was a text editor or word processor from the DOS era that did have large fonts, but everyone tells me this is not possible, and I have not been able to track it or anything like it down. (If anyone does know of such a beast, please let me know.) Did however recently discover the following on your website. ------------------------------------------------ === [71]-DOS Font (2.5k archive) - Replaces the standard font of the DOS text display (AT class machines only). Not earth-shattering but this font is much easier to read for programming etc. where typos can kill your code. ------------------------------------------------ --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Juxtaposition BBS, Telnet:juxtaposition.dynip.com (1:167/133) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 167/133 379/1 633/267 |
