The following is my take on the Iraq "Crisis":
I come from a large military family and am always supportive of our
troops... But, I draw the line on the military being used by Klinton
to cover his misanthropic tush: to make hay & threaten war over such
a non-critical situation (don't get me wrong -- I despise Saddam &
would love nothing more than for him to be permanently taken down) ...
but Klinton's proposed brief bombing run is about as limp-wristed a
slap as you can get -- it would get nowhere & cost lives...
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Klinton STILL invokes his
"power" to go to war. I could see Klinton finding some flimsy,
pathetic excuse to reject the newly-brokered peace agreement & start
lobbing bombs... or, he might start making hay about another alleged
"hot-spot" & threatening war... He could possibly try this with
Bosnia, although the peace process is slowly succeeding there --
Klinton could get it in his head to claim things aren't going fast
enough, etc. as a ruse to take up arms & do the "wag the dog" thing.
Nothing would ever surprise me where Klinton is sordidly involved,
especially where the military (the same military he has loathed &
despised & disrespected for decades) is concerned...
So... any comments anyone?
