Hi Daniel,
Sorry, I gave you a bum steer above, should have said since September
2004 not 2003!
This *is* IBM's JFS for OS/2! The difference is the ujfs.dll [from
Russia], which creates a "dummy" partition record that fools LVM into
believing it's a regular type 07h IFS, and thus allows it to be seen as
a bootable volume! On the IBM BM Menu all JFS-bootable volumes are shown
as "HPFS".
IBM released the JFS to the open-source movement, but some of the
OS/2-specific features of OS/2's JFS were not implemented, AFAIK. the
Linux implementations of LVM are incompatible with the OS/2
implementation, but I believe it's Suse [naturally1, as IBM have
invested in Novell, which owns it] that some have had success with
accessing OS/2 JFS volumes. No support for OS/2 EAs though, AFAIR.
