TD>Diane,
TD>DB>Does anyone out there have any experience in replacing lath and
laster?
TD>DB>I need to do that in my sewing room ceiling and haven't the foggiest
TD>DB>idea how to start or begin. Has anyone out there done this before and
TD>DB>how much work is involved?
TD> What I have done is to totally tear out the old plaster and lath
TD>and replace it with drywall. The tear out is a very dusty job, wear
TD>a respirator and keep the room closed. You can take out a lot of
TD>hostility during the tear down .
DB{ Thanks for the reply....I'll look into this idea and see who can
help me. I have vertigo and so looking UP is a MAJOR problem. It sounds
to me like the easiest way to go...Other than finding someone who is
willing to help without costing an arm/leg. I had some friends who did a
lot of home repairs for us a while ago and they only charged for their
materials, 1/2 time of labor and the rest was home cooked meals and
desserts to take home to their families. I liked that idea (it was
theirs) and so did their wives and children. Their wives couldn't cook I
guess - or didn't do it very well.. thanks again for the reply./
