Hi Erica,
Almost didn't read this message as you addressed to Ruth Lablanc which
as you can see is not how my name is spelled (LeBlanc).

Well, I don't know what is going on in all of Canada or even all of
Ontario. What I do know is that one of our University campuses (the one
nearest me) is now training reading recovery leaders. In other words
they don't have to go to another continent to learn. Of course, the rr
leaders train other teachers in turn. There is one such teacher training
centre in one of the schools where I often teach.
Here in my board we have 125 elementary schools (Kindergarten to grade 6
or 8 - ages 4 - 12 or 14) Of these 87 have reading recovery teachers and
we are hoping to have them in all of the schools by next fall. As for
how rr fits into the above you will have to read my post on rr - when I
finally get around to writing it. ;) Hope to do so soon.
-Ruth
I should ask a friend about this as she teaches rr and would be able to
come up with some good answers for you. I'll make a note to do so.
