Shrug. It ain't going to happen. The best the Israelis can get is a
ceasefire & a withdrawal etc & then a discussion under the aegis of
the 2nd resolution.

That's already occuring. The reality is that this was weirdly both a war of
pretext & of poor aims. It's kinda like simply killing people was the
aim. I think they thought they'd be at the litani in 3 days.

I do find the UN etc hysterical, all solemnly making the point that Lebanon
had to be totally sovereign & no foreign forces etc....while saying how
UNIFIL would massively increase in size & "robustness of
mandate".

Square that circle. UNIFIL ain't a "foreign force"?

ah well. We shall see the first time an IAF a/c intrudes into Lebanese
airspace or an IN ship intrudes into lebanese waters. If they are shot down
etc then....but if 400 reasons are found why they couldn't then....they'll
be expelled (either politely or in body bags).
