Prices rebounded again, up in the first hour and trying to hole that
level all day. With a small swoon in midafternoon again, they managed.
The question is, "did ya mean it?" Volume fell to -9% below average.
Nope.

The story of the day was M&A activity. There's a merger in the refining
industry afoot. OK, but that doesn't add capacity. Those of us who've
held a stock through a merger have learned the follow through rarely
lives up to the hype. Mergers & acquisitions don't add to employment
and the economy! In my opinion, when that's all the Street has going
for it, it's time to pull in the horns.

This message is something of a test, to see if I can get it delivered to
one of my correspondents who hasn't been receiving it regularly for a
couple weeks. AOL is persuing a scorched-earth policy on filtering, no,
censoring emails, and people are paying for this! Allegedly, if AOL
receives complaints of spam or phishing from a member against some
website, it stops delivering all email that has a URL referring to any
site on that whole domain (that's the "abc.com" part). It's the
cyberspace version of the "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" policy
from the Vietnam War era. Apparently somebody complained about some
site on a_n_g_e_l_f_i_r_e.com (that's what I have to do to refer to it
and avoid the censoring), where one of my website's mirrors is hosted.
Angelfire inserts ads to pay for the webhosting service it provides for
"free". TANSTAAFL, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. (And I
don't know, perhaps one of the sites there got hacked.) I checked my
site to see if it had been hacked, but it seems fine. I had a reference
to my website mirror content for further information on investing below.
The "/or/paulrogers" suffix to the Angelfire domain address is acutually
a directory where my website content lives. I also have to change my
Juno "signature block", which also references Angelfire.

Isn't censorship wonderful?

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: SELL Date: 04/08/05 S&P: 1181
Winner or Loser: loser By: -10
