You failed to mention their vintage. In the tower for instance, what
motherboard?  IDE or SCSI?  What disk controller, etc.

I know installing OS/2 is difficult, if not impossible, on most hardware
you can buy today. Hardly easy, as you claim. That's one reason OS/2 has
so few users. The few who remain, use mostly old hardware, vintage of an
earlier era.
