I already wrote back about this - I agree with you, at least as far as
where I live in Ontario, Canada.
However in most places there are a lot of qualified

Applause, applause - Donna Ransdale (in San Diego) and I are both in
this situation. I am lucky enough, though, to work in a board where I
usually teach over 140 days out of 185 in the school year...I am
entering my fourth year of supplying (subbing to you yanks ).
