Lionel,

your asking an oldie... Yes, there are other drivers for CD-rom drives. Is
this computer an old system, or a more recent brand? If so, you might do a
search on the internet for a Win98 boot up disk. This disk will have a generic
CD-rom driver... called oakcdrom.sys. I'm not promising anything here, but you
could also search for it on the internet and it may do the trick... the command
like would be something to the effect of:

 in your config.sys you'd have
C:\oakcdrom.sys /D:mscdrom

Making sure the oakcdrom.sys file is in your c:\ directory...

Also, in your autoexec.bat file, you'd have this:

C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:mscdrom

You can find more information about both of these files on the internet...
search www.google.com.

... Gone crazy, be back later, please leave message.
