George:
You say the ACB does what it can to benefit the blind. I am not sure this is
always the case.
First, you must realize that the ACB split off from the NFB in the early
1960's. There reason for being was to oppose the NFB. If you take away that
opposition, there is little left.
In this state, the ACB opposes virtually everything the NFB proposes, despite
its merits.
In another state, recently, that being Missouri, the agency for the blind
sometimes handed out NFB literature. It did this because the materials had
something to say. The ACB of Missouri opposed this and eventually pressured
the Missouri agency to stop handing out anything. They, the ACB had nothing
of their own, but didn't want blind people to get material that might help
them, simply because it was from the NFB. So, does the ACB always help the
blind.
"C> This list is available to all of us to post, within established

"C> I don't recall seeing anything in the guidelines that specifically and
"C> selectively prohibited information provided by the ACB from being
 "C> posted here.

This list is for NFB members and our friends to discuss things of mutual
interest.
I personally know many ACB members, and like quite a few of them.
Nevertheless, the ACB is not our friend by any stretch of the imagination.
