Antec has been quite reliable for my son on his gaming machines, and the ones
he's built for friends.
BTW he tells me no power supply today should be expected to last more than a
few years. He recommends upgrading/replacing every 3-5 years, and indicates 5
years is now beginning to push it beyond his confidence.
BTW2 he built this machine for me with an A7V880, 550 W Antec PS, Antec case,
2 GB RAM, and AMD Athlon 2700+. (HDDs, CD burner, ZIP drive from old machine,
which had the boot drive trashed when the PS failed badly after 11 years. I
wasn't willing to spend for HDD recovery, but did learn that the primary cause
both companies I talked to see is a failed PS that trashes the first HDD that
tries to spin up after the PS begins to fail, but hasn't quite died completely
yet before the last boot attempt occurs.)
