PE> BTW, I am planning on taking out the "automatic routing" of people's
PE> names. What this means is that if someone sends a message to "Paul
PE> Markham" at 3:711/934, it won't go anywhere, they have to go
PE> 3:711/934.1 instead, since that is Paul's point address.

I dont think that is a good idea at all. Most of my netmail arrives
without the point address appended and most of the files of text
describing how to netmail dont mention the point address stuff.

And you cant even warn people about the need, the vast bulk of my
netmail arrives unsolicited.

PE> The reason I want to do this is that if 2 people have the same name
PE> here, I can't route the mail anyway.

I think thats such a microscopic chance that its far better to treat
that as a special case. Particularly as the new approach doesnt even
fail safe. Extremely undesirable to do things like that with something
as important as netmail.

PE> Also you may have multiple names at your point address, e.g. if you
PE> run a BBS from the point address like AWL does.

Surely he wont be getting netmail to your system anyway ?

PE> Also, if someone is routing netmail through my system, and they send a
PE> message to "Paul Markham" in Britain, my system will
divert it to him.

Can you specify a copy, not just a move ?

PE> Does anyone have any friends that are so stupid they don't know your
PE> point number?

Yeah, I cant see it working at all.
