Hi!  You pointed out that the fido useage sure has dwindled and gone to
the net.  Well... in time it may come back.  One friend of mine was SO
delighted to go to the net... there were just SO many people there!!
After a while he discovered most of them were teenagers pretending to be
stockbrokers.  The adults may just come back to the fidos!  That is also
true of the moderator of one of the local bbs's.
Meanwhile, a friend put me on to a GOOD writer!  And increased my stack
of books by 5!  These are mysteries set in US Nat'l Parks, and the
author is a park ranger at Mesa Verde- one of my Very Favorite Places in
the Whole World!!  (I have been to Europe a couple of times, including
living in England for 3 years. Spent a few weeks in Norway in June of
'96.)  The details of the stories have the great details needed to make
a book ring true.... such as what it's like to be caught in a forest
fire. The author's name is NEVADA BARR, and the books include FIRESTORM
and TRACK OF THE CAT.
