What compiler? Borland has streamable Date and Time classes that are easy to 
use for things like that. Other compilers may have similar classes to do 
that. 
Otherwise, you'll have to write your own...
There is a date class in SNIPPETS and the demo shows how you can use it 
with iostreams...
