Of course.
The actual (that is since mid 2002) TP _ONLY_ differ at the cosmetic
level: Titanium case (T and X series), larger screen, better screen,
more memory and higher a resolution for the video card, etc... etc...
In order to make it cheaper, some do lack network (internal and/or
external), modem may be absent, etc... etc...
So, in the first place, you have to look for the amount of hardware
being IN the case.
Other than that, time being, everything inside is very much (if not
only) Intel: video, modem, network, sound.
Time being, for in the near future we can expect to have that all of it
changed. That is usually the case when something changes owner, and we
have no reason to assume it would go otherwise now (remember the IBM
PS/2, IBM keyboard, IBM printers, IBM harddisk ... )
So, if you can afford the money, it's certainly now the moment to go for it.

A few months ago in a Dutch magazine here sVista (Windy version) got a
destructive review. Apparently it is as bad as the os2 version I have
(were my personal comments).
No doubt you will be better off with a TP. Just see all the hardware you
need is in the case.
