No straw bale houses, but lotsa straw in shapes like bread loaves as large as 
a house ... some were in rolls too, none in actual rectangular bales tied up 
with bailing twine tho.

We went from Omaha to Wayne, Nebraska through Misourri Valley, Iowa, home of 
THE Beakers' Aviary.  Monica was extremely cordial.  Chuck was at work since 
Sue and I gave them little notice (the day before).  Got to see Bailey in the 
Henry Doorly Zoo too.  The Omaha aviary is nice but does not even begin to 
compete with the one in San Diego.
Monica is a mid-Westerner for sure.  Great REAL person (like I peg you to be, 
Fran) ... hospitality is her middle name.  Oh and you should see her aviary!  
All those Macaws!!  Each bird has it's own window (or 2) to look out. A large 
newer white building (aluminium sidding?) with A/C, heat, lights, a place fit 
for humans.
Drat, I missed Reginald by just one day ... I hear he got sent on his way 
with a large bag of fruit for the birds ...
