When my friend's kids tried this on me, I used, "What are you doing?  Is
that okay?  What will happen if you keep doing it?"  The 7 year old was
kind of stunned.

I had lots of deprivation, especially for an only child.  My friends
kept telling me how lucky I had it, but they were the ones who had
stereos & waterbeds while I didn't.

I'm surprised by how often we're told that our district's children are
so poor, yet the kids will come to school with $20.00 bills & ask the
teachers for change.  And of course, WE never have any money.  They
always think we're lying :)

Mine is very empty at the moment.  I hate whinging about it in public,
but I was expecting a $300 bill for my car (the ignition lock locked up
when I was starting the car Monday afternoon.  113ø F., I can't turn it
off, it won't go in gear & I had less than a ¬ tank of gas.)  PepBoys
called a little while ago & told me it will ONLY be $77.51.  Yippee!!!
I felt like the patron saint of teachers was looking after me today.
BTW, IS there a patron saint of teachers?  I feel like I owe something.
