This format would indicate a compressed archive? I always get an
UNcompressed ASCII Nodelist file (for this particular network), but I would
hope they are following the "recognized standard" of the `last two digits' in
the file extension...

I got your post today and I wrote it to a file. The new Nodelist may come
down the line tomorrow or the next or the next (there doesn't seem to be any
consistency for a delivery date...) and hopefully I will have enough time to
implement the code.
Thank you for the post and I will inform you at a later date if I was
successful in dealing with the problem...
