Hi folks! I need some help with the above printer. I installed the enclosed Windows drivers in Win-OS/2 and I just get garbage. I downloaded the updated driver from the Device Driver Pak Online, and it is a fixpak for omni.exe. I've never done a fixpack before and the enclosed instructions were rather confusing. But inside the zip file I found the drivers and I just dragged the driver for my printer to the desktop. I was able to print, but am wondering about the following: Will I get the best printer performance from this or do I need to do the fixpack? I spent bucks on the printer and I want the best color resolution it'll give me. I printed stuff in PM-JPEG and it was only ok. How can I get the damn thing working in Win-OS/2? I am using Warp 4. And what applications is anybody using this thing well with? I did a big mail merge already in Describe and it came out ok....but as far as color? The Windows drivers installed and work very well. Make sure you are connected to LPT1.OS2 and not LPT1. Also make sure the Print Manager is turned off. This is probably the source of the "Garbage". By connecting to LPT1.OS2 the print is sent to he OS/2 spooler. As far as the PM driver goes, The quality of the color output is so-so. I have been fairly well satisfied but, for the highest quality I will print in a WIN-OS/2 session. If the driver is working, It is probably OK. The correct way to do it is to open the printer object, then properties, then "install" the updated driver. Since Win-OS/2 is a part of Warp, I can't do the old install from a DOS boot trick, and Win32S refuses to install, even from a full screen session. Reading the manuals (both paper and online versions) doesn't shed any light on this. Anyone got Win32S working on Warp 3 Connect (blue box)? ...
