In many/most parts of the USA all that matters to some folks is that he
has a black ancestor. In fact, until recently someone with as little as
1/8 black blood would not be allowed to marry a white person in at least
several states (e.g. Virginia, Louisiana). And someone who looks black
has to be extra careful when pulled over for a simple traffic violation.
So don't talk about how he was or was not raised -- that matters little
in the minds of many residents of the USA.

You may think that they prefer to stay segregated -- but that is just
wishful thinking on your part. They might stay segregated because of
economic circumstances. They may well want to escape the segregated
area where they are, and some do. Where I live is a good example of how
that can work. My city has a complete mix of many races living
peacefully together, side by side.

Perhaps the minority white people do not agree, because they would
rather have "not in my neighborhood".
