Look at the file MSDOS.SYS, in the root directory of a Windows95 boot
drive. It used to be a binary file, now it includes the following lines:
[Paths]
WinDir=C:\WINDOWS
WinBootDir=C:\WINDOWS
HostWinBootDrv=C
[Options]
BootMulti=1
BootGUI=1
Network=1
;
;The following lines are required for compatibility with other programs.
Change the BootGUI=1 to BootGUI=0, CAREFULLY, and re-boot. Voila! You now
have a machine that boots into DOS 7.
SO, if you want to run a Windows95 machine as a DOS BBS machine, running
Max, you can. I've thought about it for the times that I leave my BBS
unattended, wondering if it would run more stably, but I haven't had a
problem with Max under Windows95 YET.
