I've been doing most of my christmas shopping online for about 5 years now.
At first it was really tough because everyone wanted 4-6 weeks delivery.
Now it's free if you accept 5-9 days or you can have 2nd day for under $10.

That makes it sooo much easier, plus the websites have learned what
information they need to show, like if it's in stock or not.
