This is nonsense. There are no "needles" or "pins" in a disk drive
used to write to the disk. There is a "head" which contains the
read/write mechanism - an electromagnet. There are no commands and
no mechanism within a hard drive which can cause the head to move
vertically towards the surface of the disk, and therefore no "virus"
(or anything else) that could cause that to happen. In a floppy
drive the head is in direct physical contact with the disk surface
during operation, and again there are no commands nor mechanism which
could be used to force the head harder into the disk.
