PE> It's more the locals didn't support me. I was with PE> Westpac at the time, and I wanted an interest-only PE> loan, secured against the house. They wouldn't let me. SF> It appears that a lot of smaller users are now turning to the boutique SF> type lenders which may force the big 4 to reaccess their position. SF> I personally can't say that I have a lot of time for the big 4. Yeah, and it aint nothing new either. The fools played mindless silly buggers when I wanted to build my house more than 20 years ago now, physically building it myself. The clown they had for a manager at the local ANZ I had banked with for years was such a pathetic fool that he maintained that it would be financially best to save up for the rather insignificant government financial encouragement for first homeowners. Even the most superficial look at the figures made it clear that with the inflation rates at that time that was insane. I pissed off to a credit union and thought it might be interesting to see if I could do it with no upfront money at all, because I was making a decent return on what I could have used elsewhere. Never looked back and the big 4 wont be getting any of my business if I can possibly avoid it. I did retain various accounts with most of them for various reasons and they then proceeded to piss me off all over again when the ATMs were introduced, werent prepared to discuss any problems over the phone, they wanted personal attendance at the branch. Bugger that, I do everything on a 1800 number hundreds of Ks away now. Full online computerised service as well, very convenient. And unlike Paul, I cant recall a single glitch ever. And now that the banks are gouging to recover from their immense stuffups in the late 80s, its totally free of all charges, and for quite a while was even free of FID and BAD too, tho that is charged now. The big 4 can take their operations and shove it where the sun dont shine. SF> It's a bloody great insult to see the massive profits both SF> six monthly and yearly and then they continue to hit the SF> users with more charges, claiming they are hard done by. Yeah, complete pack of spivs, con men and rippoff merchants IMO. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
