Hi James,
          if they can afford the $2 million, they are clearly not
being taxed enough. The silly part is that the States have the power
to impose bans on sports sponsorship, even if the High Court challenge
succeeds... I think their aim is to stir up this debate again, in the
hope that the do gooders and bleeding hearts will think that the
health of their chilkdren is less important that Rothman's right to
link smoking to a footballer who doesn't smoke anyway.

 JR> As someone who smokes I wish they would just make it Illegal,
 JR> or at least a prescription item.

  Yair... I know the feeling, but prohibition doesn't work to help you
give up addictions; you have to want it yourself. It was five years
before I stopped wanting a smoke, and even now, fifteen years later, I
still get the vague urge occasionally. To give up, you need a reason,
and with an addiction it's got to be a good one!

  This is why I hate cigarette advertising (not cigarettes, or smokers);
it is the way new addicts are led to the slaughter. And when you're in,
you're in!

Regards,
Bob
