Ah, I see. Well, I do do alot of scanning up and down the bands, but
usually just listen in on the local and other towns, etc., that interest
me. Since some do share freq's with other municipalities, etc., I would
make use of the digital or tone squelches. I know AOR's are very
capable receivers, but for what I want\need, their price doesn't justify
my purchase. BUT, I would definitely consider future scanning
possibilities\bands when buying a new scanner.
Actually, I have about 3 different HH\portables and three different base
scanners and I'm quite surprised by thier respective receive
capabilities. What one portable scanner might receive on the SAME
antenna in the exact same location another might not pick up at all,
except for when having the squelch turned all the way down. I haven't
had an AOR, yet, but I know they are excellent receivers from what
I've heard from thier users. Maybe I'll get one....just not right now.
Thanks,
Tony
