subject: Question?

On 11-24-03 BOBBY QUEEN Typed to ALL about Question?

BQ>Well it looks like everyone died when the last weeks picks were over.
BQ>:) I wondered how folks liked the new pick 5 format this past year
BQ>and whether we wanted to stay with that concept next year or go back
BQ>to the pick 3 format? I suggest keeping the Could/Might Win pick
BQ>either way. The pick 5 format made it a tiny bit harder on me but
BQ>hey it kept me on my toes. :) Just hate the stats from the previous
BQ>years were not applicable since all the previous years scores were
BQ>from a pick 3 contest.

Unless more than we few, we proud six participate next year I'll
probably drop my participation as well. The problem is that most
NASCAR knowledgeable people of my acquaintance are clueless when
it comes to FIDO and have no interest in learning about it.

Going back to a pick three would affect the total points and cut
the amount of bonus points available. But, it would make the big
bonus points for the hat trick easier to get. I enjoyed my picks
for first out almost as much as trying to figure who wasn't pick
material for the top spots but might win.

Perhaps if we abandoned FIDO and went to a mailing list format -
or, did both simultaneously ... it would certainly open us up to
more participants. And perhaps if NASCAR would go back to racing
STOCK cars I would be more interested in watching the races. The
present silhouette series aspect and striving for "parity" bites
the extremely bitter carrot. If I want to watch silhouette races
the ASA does a _much_ better job than NASCAR. If NASCAR keeps on
they soon will be on a par with Vince McMahon's WWE.

ENJOY!!!
