There is no need for anyone here to defend himself, except perhaps Jeff who
accuses some here of being insulting to the soldier involved.  No one was.

Since I was the first to object to what was on the site, I want to
emphasize that I was not then nor am I now criticizing the site. Anyone can
put up any dumb thing on the web and innumerable people do. I was
criticizing specifically the mindless flag waving by the people depicted in
those photos. If those photos
were taken by me, my accompanying commentary would have been utterly
different from that of the photos' author and would have been withering I
can assure you.

I don't like mindless flag waving that passes for patriotism and as I said in my
original comment I found it "moving" alright in that it moved my
bowels. I not only make no apologies for that, I repeat it.
