Pot calling the kettle black, eh? This is really nothing personal but I find this is just like arm chair quarterbacks who put down everything, do the sport a disservice. I've seen too much negativity ruin the hopes of those who try to break the mold, from of all people: their very friends. So when you go off on a tangent in an unrelated echo bad mouthing how you did without much technical merit, I get a little annoyed. I've written some negative things myself but it was directed at the management of the shuttle program who I feel tend to ignore the safer choice when it conflicts with their "big picture" agenda. The engineers aren't at fault for being over-careful and being forced to shut up by threats of dismissal by management when their science conflicts with the aims of the program. Hence the O-ring fiasco, et al. Really it's not personal, however, if you're going to do an opinion piece in a technical echo then, baybee, you're fair game! Mike **** ...
