PE>> Why aren't you guys using PQWK215?

RS> Coz I cant have the kludges I want visible, it aint got MSGIDs and
RS> its another code and pray |-)

PE> You never used to see any kludges when you were QWKing, why do you
PE> expect them now?

Coz the world has moved on. I dont operate on the basis of what I had
before anyway, I just decide whats useful and whats not and try to have
as much of the useful stuff as possible.

PE> You don't have MSGID with your current version, so that is irrelevant.

But it is a consideration when deciding if its worth using. Essentially
with something were reliability is vital, you look at a new version and
decide if its got anything worth having. If it hasnt, no point in
changing from a version with no known problems to one which is untried.
Thats what reliability is all about.

PE> Since being a QWKer you never generate REPLYID anyway, MSGID is useless
PE> for reply threading, which is what you tout it for all the time.

Thats wrong too, someone replying to a message of mine can add a REPLYID
if mine has a MSGID. I would like the REPLYID in my outgoings too, but
thats harder.

PE> As for code and pray, I actually did some rudimentary testing on it,
PE> but there was still problems with it, which Brenton found, and I fixed
PE> the problems that he reported, that's why there's 2 releases missing
PE> that you never saw.

Sure, and obviously others actually using 215 is testing too. And a good
reason for me to see if they get fang marks on their bum before I use it
myself.

PE>> Brenton's been using it for half a week.

RS> He never does any email so thats hardly much test.

PE> The changes were basically all on the PKT2QWK side, so it's how many
PE> messages he reads that counts.

Who knows what he reads, I certainly dont. And thorough testing of a new
version is also about testing ALL of its capability incase a quirk becomes
visible in another part which wasnt deliberately being changed.
