I ran eCS and OS/2 Warp 4 CP2 on a Thinkpad R31 for a couple of years.
The internal modem and PCMCIA slots gave me problems though. The rest of
the hardware was similar enough to the T21 or generic drivers to be able
to be used with OS/2. If the R41 has gone to GB rather than fast
(100Mb/s) ethernet, there's a good chance the chipset is broadcom rather
than intel - you may have issues there as well.

If you have a choice, getting a T42 thinkpad working under eCS / OS2
will be easier (that's what I now use) - again the internal win-modem
will never work under os/2 and wireless is only possible using a PCMCIA
Orinico (or other OS/2 supported) card - there's no drivers yet for the
built-in wireless capability unfortunately.

Your other option is to run eCS 1.2 within SVista/Win on the Installed
Windows XP partition . Run it in fullscreen and forget that you're
actually running Windows XP as well.

Cheers/2

Ed.
