I didn't realize that it might have been during the very early opening of 
the park, but, considering what I've read, it's certainly plausible.  For 
example, it was so hot, and the cement hadn't set yet, so women's high 
heel shoes were getting stuck!  And, yes, some of the rides weren't ready 
or functioning properly.
