First I want to thank those of you who have sent
me buttons now and then. I eventually will get
thank-you notes written when I am feeling better
emotionally and physically.
I have a shirt that my mom made for me that has
flower pots appliqued on it and stitched stems
and I embrodered the leaves and added buttons that
were in the shapes of flowers from my collection.
At the time I asked her if she could make me a
shirt with a few hearts appliqued on it that I
could sew heart buttons on. Well, it was such
a surprise when my dad stopped here to pick up
some stuff that I was sending home with him (he was
in salem on business) that mom had gotten the
shirt done. Especially since she has been so sick
the past few weeks. She also made me some scrunchies
for my hair out of scraps of fabrics since my hair
has grown long enough to put back.
So, now I can spend time sewing my heart buttons onto
the shirt. I'm not sewing any heavy buttons on, but I
have one large kind of bulky heart that I may or may
not sew on. Haven't decided for sure yet. But it is
light-weight so I may. I'm also not sure about the metal
heart buttons I have. I think they will be okay but
I think I may ask someone first (or perhaps someone here
can tell me) if it will wash okay since I don't want to
have to do anything special other than turn it inside
out. So that is my next project once I sort my buttons
for crafts and put a few buttons from a friend in
Australia into my collection boxes.
If anyone finds a quarter note button could you send one
to me? I've been looking. I'm going to do a sampler
eventually with buttons for things that start with every
letter of the alphabet. So far I don't have anything for
Q (and another couple of letters that I don't know off-
hand) and I thought a quarter note would work. I have
eighth notes but no quarter notes and haven't found them.
Anyway, this is my latest project, along with rubber
stamping occasionally. I had a card order that I'm in
the process of doing. Nothing is colored yet, but I'm
working on it. I'm also trying to remember to call
about wallpaper sample books that the stores usually
throw away but have been too stressed to do that. I know
Wanda does some really neat things with them and I have
some ideas for using with my cards.
More later.
Wendy
