Hello Glen
I hope you are doing well my friend. How is the weather up in your neck
of the woods?
Well, the boys in my troop have made this recipe a few times on our
cooler weekend campouts.
Mexican Lasauna:
2 cans enchalada sause
2 pounds ground beef
2 packets of taco seasoning
2 cans cream mushrum soup
6 cups grated cheeder cheeze
corn tortillas about 50
Brown meat and add taco seasoning and put to side. Mix mushrom soup,
enchalada sause with a little water. In Dutch Oven, add in layers the
corn tortillas, meat, cheeze, sause, tortillas, and just keep the layers
going. (this recipe is by my troop Senior Patrol Leader-Jeremy Telck,
Troop 497)
This next recipe was sent to me by Steve and Ginger Jennings in Troop
502 here in my council.
Roll The Can Ice Cream:
1, 1 lb coffee can and 1, 3 lb coffee can both with plastic lids
1 1/2 cups of rock salt
20 cups or 7 1/2 lbs crushed salt
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg (optional)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsb vanilla
1/3 cup chocholate chips
In small can, mix cream, milk, beaten egg, sugar, vanilla, and
chocholate chips. Cover the small can and put in center of larger can
and layer crushed ice and rock salt alternetaly. Cover the large can.
Fun begins by choosing a hard level surface and roll can back and forth
for ten minutes. After ten minutes open large can and dump out ice and
salt and add fresh rock salt and ice and ro;; 5 more minutes. Enjoy!
My troop tried this last week at our meeting and the ice cream turned
out to be a thick milk shake. My guys just wanted to eat the ice cream
more than rolling the can. Well, I hope you can use these 2 recipes for
the cookbook.
