I heard Missler refer to a word for a people which was "Nephilim".
He said the word means "The fallen ones", and was one of the prime reasons
-d
caused the great Genesis flood.
I checked my dictionaries, topicals, Greek/English, Scofield, NIV,
nd
then to the BibleSoft. A true meaning was not really given anywhere. The
closest I can come is a presumption that it means "giants" which were the
giants that Joshua's spies were terrified of.
I tracked it to descendants of "Arba" and "Anak" but there isn't
really a good definition of these people.
It was said that these were originally descended from the fallen
angels and were genetically of Satan. As such, it was further said that it
was the plan of the adversary to mess up G-d's gene pool or some such thing.
One source I read tracked these people back to southern or maybe
pper
Egypt. This would almost infer that many of the inhabitants of Africa could
well be descended from the Nephilim. But, that's just a thought.
It was also said that the people of Sodom and Gommorah(sp) were also
descendants of the Nephilim. If this were true, it would explain a few
things.
If anybody has any further information, I am just curious to learn
ho
or what they were. ( I learned first that they were not of the Naphtali
ribe
of Northern Israel. ) I am also not certain about the spelling. The data I
have seems to shoot hither and yon amongst the words `neph.......' and
`naph.......'.
It is interesting to note that on the other side of the fence of
Salvation, there seems to be a stage setting going on to explain away the
disappearance of the Believers at the Rapture (that great taking away or as
one said -the great snatch-!)
Shalom & Thank You
