No, the law pertains to cordless phones, but many are wrongly not keeping
current on the changes in the law, and don't know about the year old
TDDRA that included cordless phones as being illegal to monitor.

You have this wrong also. By your defination, I could not tell people
what I heard on the local radio station, as I use my scanner to listen
to it.
It is illegal to divulge what is heard on non-broadcast frequencies though.
