1237a5dab3b3 tech Hello Bo - BS>>> Linux has allways been good at SMP. Since kernel 2.0 BS>>> there has been SMP support (i started with Redhat 5.1 BS>>> there came with a 2.0 kernel, and it had SMP support). CA>> Are we confusing 'support' with having software to CA>> _utilize_ this 'support'? BS> Well, it's implemented in the compiler? It's supported here, it's implemented there, it's everywhere, that darn Scarlet Pimpernel! Seriously, does 'implemented' in the compiler seem so very different than 'supported' in the kernel? Supported, implemented, but with no software applications that use it is 100% useless IMO. That the people working on Linux are looking towards the future and allowing for access to these things is good but not of any real value at the present time for average users with average software. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
